Overview:
We are recruiting an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to Cash to lead a key function within a recently restructured finance operations team. This is a pivotal role within the wider finance transformation programme, with responsibility for overseeing the end-to-end Sales to Cash (also referred to as Audit to Cash) process.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering the next phase of an ERP transformation, specifically the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, and will operate within a pod-based delivery structure, working collaboratively with business area leads and project teams.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity, ideal for someone with significant transformation experience and the gravitas to influence at executive level.
Background & Context:
- The finance team has recently undergone a significant restructure into two defined areas:
- Sales to Cash - this role
- Record to Report - led by another senior finance leader
- The restructure aligns with a move towards an End-to-End Process Operating Model, ensuring more focused service delivery and greater alignment with business growth.
- The Sales to Cash function was previously too broad; the new model allows for more specialised leadership and targeted transformation.
- An ongoing SAP S/4HANA implementation is central to the transformation, delivered through a pod structure specific to business areas.
- After an unsuccessful permanent recruitment campaign, this role is now offered as a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Sales to Cash / Audit to Cash function, overseeing a team of approximately 55 people, including 4 direct reports.
- Drive transformation of the Sales to Cash process in alignment with broader ERP and finance change programmes.
- Play a central role in the delivery and optimisation of SAP S/4HANA, ensuring successful rollout and adoption across relevant business areas.
- Collaborate with other pod leads and finance counterparts to integrate end-to-end processes across the finance value chain.
- Embed strong audit, compliance, and cash controls across the function.
- Develop and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, providing clear communication, strategic insight, and solution-oriented leadership.
- Act as a key point of contact for executive leadership, offering updates, risk mitigation, and strategic advice on transformation initiatives.
Candidate Profile:
- Extensive leadership experience within a Sales to Cash / Audit to Cash function.
- Strong track record of delivering ERP implementations (SAP S/4HANA or Oracle).
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement at executive level with proven influencing skills and gravitas.
- Experience managing large teams - ideally 50+ with both qualified and part-qualified finance professionals.
- Understanding of pod-based transformation delivery models is advantageous.
- Qualification in accountancy is preferred but not essential; qualified by experience candidates are welcome.
- Highly collaborative, with the ability to work cross-functionally and drive performance in a hybrid working environment.
- Available to be on-site 2-3 days per week.
