About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Officer to join our Central Functions Line of Business. We are flexible with the location and would consider applicants from Melbourne, Adelaide, or Canberra.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
Reporting to the Cyber Security Lead, you will be responsible for providing frontline support and assistance to end-users and internal teams on cybersecurity-related issues.
This role involves performing Supplier Risk Assessments, hardware & software reviews, troubleshooting support requests & providing support for various security incidents, maintaining registers and documentation, implementing security measures, assisting with Phishing Tests and Quarterly User Access Reviews, Supporting NINJIO & Passwordstate, and ensuring the continuous protection of the business information systems.
The Cyber Security Officer will work closely with other cybersecurity team members to maintain and enhance the security posture of the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform Cyber Security Supplier Risk assessments processed through Supply Chain Service Desk (SCRASD) in a timely manner
- Identify and escalate as needed complex Supplier Risk assessments to Cyber Support Lead & GRC team when necessary
- Provide timely and effective support for security incidents reported by end-users and internal teams
- Troubleshoot and resolve security issues, escalating complex incidents to higher-level security personnel when necessary
- Assist in the containment, eradication, and recovery of security breaches
- Provide guidance and support to end-users on security best practices and the safe use of Information Technology (IT) resources
- Address and resolve user queries related to cybersecurity policies, procedures, and incidents
- Assist with managing privileged access controls, ensuring proper permissions and roles are assigned according to security policies
- Assist in the identification and mitigation of security vulnerabilities in systems and applications as needed
- Maintain detailed records of security incidents, support requests, and resolutions
About YOU
- Knowledge/experience in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable
- Strong understanding of information security principles, practices, and technologies
- Knowledge & Experience with security tools and technologies such as antivirus software, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems highly desirable
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving security incidents and issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical users
- Willingness to work and respond to security incidents outside of regular working hours
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
