The role
As a Transport Driver Controller, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will oversee and coordinate all internal drivers while managing the allocation of external resources to ensure excellent and consistent customer service delivery.
Day-to-day, you’ll support with the allocation of driver jobs ensuring attendances are in line with Contract key performance indicators (KPI’s) and raising plans of action and special plans of actions as appropriate including defects, planned events etc. You’ll also:
- Work directly with the Logistics Manager to improve route optimisation ensuring journeys managed to reduce mileage covered and improve out CO2 impact
- Provide support to the Managed Service Centre (MSC) with code 1 defects to ensure attendance within KPIs and providing Driver Support.
- Manage reserve levels ensuring collections/deliveries are conducted on time or amended in line with KPI’s.
- Support the MSC ensuring customer calls are answered within KPI’s and ensuring excellent customer service is provided.
- Allocation of External Driver Jobs ensuring the use of external companies is minimised and all costs are recorded correctly.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Ruislip.
Essential experience of the Transport Driver Controller:
- Previous experience of strong stakeholder engagement
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience in an administrative background
- Previous roles where attention to detail is a prime factor
