The role
As a Special Projects Strategic Account Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a critical, customer-facing role responsible for maintaining the current portfolio’s thematic alignment with customer and authority requirements, while strategically capturing and shaping future workstreams.
Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with the core team, manage existing relationships, build a pipeline of new opportunities, and champion initiatives that advance the directorate’s mission and impact.
- Portfolio Oversight: Ensure projects meet customer and authority standards, addressing scope or objective changes proactively.
Pipeline Development: Shape and execute strategies for future work aligned with strategic goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, understand evolving needs, and support initiatives like J3/5 and CONEMP.
- Thematic Leadership: Lead and provide expertise in a specific thematic area, turning customer needs into project opportunities.
- Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with leadership to align project planning with long-term growth objectives.
This role is full time 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Special Projects Strategic Account Manager:
- Recent Military/HMG full-career experience
- J3/5 ‘real-time’ operational ‘high stakes’ experience
- CONEMP build and understanding at a senior stakeholder level
- Agile and Pace driven delivery & execution (to include overseas in a tactical operational context)
- Subject Matter Expert in a relevant context to the thematic (EW/CITI/Technical Exploitation/SpecOp etc)

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Developed Vetting (DV) clearance for this role.
