Ackerman Engineering is a sub-contract precision sheet metal company. Our components and fabrications are used across the UK, throughout Europe and beyond. Customers tend to be OEMs in fields such as electronics, security, transport, hydraulics, nuclear, plastics as well as medical and construction.
We like to offer all apprentices, full time employment after successful completion of their apprenticeship. Providing they have worked hard and are wanting to grow and progress in Ackerman Engineering.
· Provides an opportunity to someone who is interested in learning about various elements of performing engineering operations to a recognised qualification.
- Combining study and work, under the instruction and supervision of skilled technical staff, your days will offer lots of unique challenges, with an array of interesting work and training
- You will work towards acquiring the knowledge and skills on how to competently perform duties using hand tools, marking out, drilling, milling, fitting and assembly, through to CNC laser & bending technology, and MIG/TIG welding and fabricating
The apprenticeship training is delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular college attendance. This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Metal Fabrication Level 3 standard. On completion the apprentice will receive Metal Fabricaion Level 3 qualification. Functional Skills in Maths and English may also be required depending on current level.
Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 17:00 Friday 08:00 – 13:00. Opportunities of overtime work.
