About the OPPORTUNITY
We have a great opportunity for a Software Assurance Manager to join our Hunter Class Program based at Osborne – SA or Melbourne – VIC, reporting to the Chief Engineer Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities include:
The SwAM is to be involved in:
- Planning, coordinating and managing software assurance activities for the HCFP, including:
- Defining and implementing software assurance processes to enable proactive identification of supplier software quality issues and strategies for rectification
- Ensuring that the collection, assessment, structuring and communication of evidence to demonstrate claimed software properties is conducted consistently, coherently and effectively across the HCF programme
- Ensuring availability of necessary evidence that software within HCF systems achieves and sustains the required level of quality in a manner consistent with contractual, legal and regulatory requirements
- Interpreting and implementing appropriate software assurance standards such as ISO/IEC 12207:2017, RTCA-DO-178B, MIL-STD-882C and the Joint Software Systems Safety Handbook.
- Production, maintenance and updating of HCFP software assurance documents
- Defining and implementing mechanism for assessing supplier software quality risk
- Monitoring and reporting on software assurance status and quality metrics
- Supporting engineering teams in the assessment of software quality, including product safety and product security
- Supporting engineering and quality teams in executing supplier audits and reviews
- Supporting the maintenance of the HCFP Software Management Plan and Software List
- Supporting development and review of supplier product contractual documentation
- Supporting software working groups and workshops.
About YOU
The SwAM is to provide support to the Design Authority organisation to deliver:
- Software Assurance plans, policies and procedures including plans to assess supplier software quality risk, resolve quality issues and monitor software quality during Whole of Ship integration
- Support to other teams in development of software documentation and assessment of supplier deliverables
- Development of software assurance mechanisms in line with approved standards i.e. MIL-STD-882E.
- Extensive knowledge of Software Standards IEC 12207 & JSSSEH is considered essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Software Engineering or similar field is considered Essential
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain NV2 clearance
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
