The Role
As a Mechanical and Electrical Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Working on the Skynet contract, as an active member of the Maintenance and Support team.
Day-to-day, you’ll proactively working to ensure capabilities are maintained, through both preventive and reactive maintenance.
Whilst performing scheduled maintenance tasks, supporting both Through Life Support and new works. You need to be able to adapt and learn as we drive a culture that embraces continuous improvements.
- Working to a planned timetable including inspecting, monitoring and reporting on the condition of M&E assets.
- Competent in Electrical test procedures and certification.
- Work in line with the company Health and Safety policies.
- Work in conjunction with the Operations and Installation and Maintenance teams.
- Following safe working in line with the sites radiation policy.
- Escalating failures in line with departmental reporting expectations.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Oakhanger, Bordon, Hampshire.
Essential Experience of the Mechanical and Electrical Technician
- Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise.
- Experience of working to safety procedures.
- Good understanding of COSHH regulations.
Qualifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Technician
- Minimum NVQ3/C&G Level 3 diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic).
- Minimum Level 3 award in Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations (C&G 2391/2).
- BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (IET).
- A full UK driving licence.

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
