Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical.
Decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG’s own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

Responsibilities and Duties:
As a member of the Consultancy Services Division, Technical Officer supports consultancy services to clients on a wide range of projects in the fields of radioactive waste management, decommissioning and environmental restoration.
Specific requirements for the role:
- Applicant will needs to be based at our office at Calleva Park in Reading, working in the consultancy division of NSG.
- Role will involve supporting Consultancy delivery of decommissioning and waste management work scope.
- Role will include a key interface with our in-house decommissioning and waste management teams that
deliver on-site projects.
- Desk-based role but will include some site visits and customer interface.
- Liaise with NSG Operating Divisions and clients; developing and maintaining strong working relationships which will in turn promote NSG Environmental Ltd.’s business ethos.
- Provide technical support in area of expertise associated with decommissioning, waste management and environmental remediation.
- Develop competence in technical areas of decommissioning, waste management and environmental remediation.
- Produce high quality documents to support decommissioning and waste management projects e.g. Best Available Technique, Letter of Compliance submissions, waste characterisation documents, experimental and technology reports.
- Liaise with internal colleagues as necessary in order to contribute to the development of business by internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence
- Interface with client representatives as appropriate to complement the technical integrity and competence of the Company, and/or to provide an informed source or referral.
Experience & Knowledge
- Degree in a related science (physics, chemistry, maths, environmental science) or engineering discipline
- Developing experience within a particular area(s) of technical competence within the field of decommissioning, waste management or environmental restoration.
- Experience of applying skills/degree knowledge and qualifications to delivery

Pay: £27,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
