Job Title: Head of HR – Organisational Effectiveness

Salary: Circa £85,000 dependent on skills and experiences plus executive package
What you’ll be doing:
- Create and carry out an integrated People Strategy to help Defence Solutions attract, grow, and keep the right talent
- Collaborate with senior leaders, HR teams, and Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to design and deliver business-focused solutions that enhance organisational effectiveness
- Drive strategic workforce planning, talent management, and diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I) activities that match with HR strategic priorities
- Analyse employee data to detect patterns, assess performance, and implement short and long-term solutions to enhance workforce effectiveness
- Lead knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination across the organisation, acting as a coach and mentor to the People team
- Improve engagement with HR processes and technologies, such as SuccessFactors, for consistent and effective communication across the organization
- As a trusted advisor, collaborate with business leaders to provide high-quality, efficient help that aligns with their objectives
Your skills and experiences:
- Proven experience in a senior HR role with a strong focus on strategic HR leadership, organisational effectiveness, and workforce planning
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across the business, including executive-level stakeholders
- Strategic Workforce Planning: Experience in designing and implementing strategic workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives
- Experience in driving DE&I strategies and initiatives, ensuring an inclusive workplace culture
- Proficiency in using HR metrics and data analytics to create insights, inform business decisions, and measure HR effectiveness
- Proven ability to lead organisational change initiatives and drive HR process improvements
- Familiarity with HR tools and systems (e.g., SuccessFactors) and experience in integrating HR solutions within a complex business environment
- Strong team leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop HR teams

As the Head of HR – Organisational Effectiveness within BAE Systems M&L Defence Solutions (DS), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing an integrated People Strategy across the business. Working from Portsmouth Naval Base with flexible hybrid options, you will collaborate with senior leaders, HR teams, and Centres of Excellence (CoEs) to ensure that the organisation attracts, develops, and retains the right talent.
