Job Title:International Payroll Team Manager

Salary:£45,000 – £50,000
What you’ll be doing:
- Support continuous improvement of the international payroll processes, regularly reviewing with key internal stakeholders and third-party payroll providers
- Responsible for the creation and adherence to a monthly payroll timetable, including cut-off, input submission and output approval and submission dates
- Embed a culture of financial control and undertake quarterly Control Owner Self Assessments
- Develop and mature relationships with all key stakeholders including Global and Domestic Mobility, Finance, Treasury, International Reward & HR
- Responsible for the development of direct reports by recognizing high performance and identifying opportunities and managing performance through the necessary process for employees who fall short of the necessary standards of performance
- Responsible for signing off payroll output, in line with Delegation of Authority Limits
- Review and reconcile home/host compensation summary for the tax year (i.e. W2, P60) for accuracy and request revised compensation summaries from external payroll vendor where needed
- Lead on the review of the Business Continuity Plans to ensure relevance and to ensure that they are up to date
- Reviewing the current payroll processes, ensuring adequate work instructions
- Responsible for undertaking regular performance reviews, cascading of business objectives, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, and individual development
- Responsible for the analysis of work volume trends to establish the productivity levels and forecast future workflow and resource requirements
- Responsible for the recruitment, training and coaching of new staff into the Payroll team to ensure maximum performance
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Extensive Operational Payroll Experience ideally in an International Payroll or a Shared Service environment
- Knowledge of payroll legislation, including appreciation for future changes and impact on payroll function
- Experienced people manager skilled in coaching and mentoring to support career development
- Experience of data interrogation to analyse, troubleshoot and problem solve
- Understand finance governance including Financial Control Frameworks
Desirable:
- Experience of processing in partnership with third party providers
- Shadow Payroll experience
- CIPP desirable

The International Payroll team:
International Payroll is a small team, which is part of the wider Pay & Reward team within Shared Services. We process payrolls/shadow payrolls pensions and applicable deductions for employees in international locations. These can be either a home based role or as part of a long- or short-term international assignment, they are processed in multiple currencies. A critical service that pays our colleagues around the world, in line with local legislation & tax requirements.
