The role
As a Finance Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You be supporting a programme within our Nuclear Defence Support business stream.
Day-to-day, you’ll be an integral point of contact responsible for the provision and verification of an accurate financial position of the programme, inclusive of forecasting, rates production and supporting actual cost reconciliations, journal month end entries, supporting internal/external audit and monthly reporting supporting the commercial and Project Director in discussion with the client.
- Support to governance process (head contract and supply chain and self-delivery work packages)
- EAC review & consolidation for whole programme view (ROM) – including down to net profit
- Monthly Rolling forecast and annual budget production with link into resource demand management tool and RDEC tracker
- Attendance at monthly accountability to highlight any issues the project team need to be aware of and provide financial support as required
- Monthly reporting for whole programme (P&L, cashflow, orderbook, pipeline, KPI schedule (recognition), Debt, Sales accruals/billing in advance, other working capital)
- Oversight of monthly supply chain cost accruals/VOWD and revenue recognition process
- Management of Risk - allocation to projects for fixed price contracts
Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role.
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and is based at either our Warrington or Bristol office and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days in the office/onsite and two days working from home.
Essential experience of the Finance Manager
- Good understanding of project controls function and ability to interact well with cost engineers, planners, Quantity Surveyor, Project Controls Manager
- Experience of working in a team delivering large complex programmes, preferably nuclear and other sectors such as Oil and Gas, Construction.
- Experience NEC contracts is advantageous
- Excellent numerate and written communication and strong computer literacy within standard tools (e.g. MS Office Suite)
Qualifications for the Finance Manager
- CIMA Qualified Accountant with demonstrable post qualified experience
- ACA, ACCA considered
