Job Title: Electrical/Electronic Maintenance and Test Engineer
Location: Portsmouth Naval Base
Salary: £42,000 – £44,300 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintenance, defect diagnosis and rectification on Electrical/Electronic Systems
- Applying logical and methodical problem-solving skills in order to resolve complex challenges, issues and faults associated with, operation and performance of Systems
- Operating Safe Systems of Work that comply with the company SHE procedures at all times
- Providing information and technical advice to assist in the compilation of estimates, programs and work packages
- Offering mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced Engineers
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Knowledge and experience of Electrical/Electronic Systems and what influences their performance
- Understanding of electrical safe systems of work
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal, ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- IT literate in the use of Microsoft Office, with the ability to produce technical reports and spreadsheets
Desirable:
- NVQ4/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or relevant experience
- Knowledge of Fibre/Copper Data Cable installation, termination, testing and fault finding
- Experience in the use of electronic Test Equipment
- Understanding of Low-voltage (Up to 24Vdc and Up to 230Vac) systems would be advantageous

The Electrical Systems team:
