Mission:
This is a consultancy-based position, requiring on-site presence at the client's premises 2–3 days per week (Aztec West, Bristol).
We are currently seeking several Mechanical Engineers Consultants – Nuclear to join our dynamic team in a fast-expanding sector of our business.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Attend and contribute to project design meetings, offering solutions and suggestions
- Evaluate technical challenges and develop practical solutions
- Coordinate project timelines and supervise team workflows
- Manage project documentation and ensure files are up to date and well-organised
- Collaborate with clients to define project requirements, scope, and objectives
- Create conceptual layouts for equipment and piping systems
- Produce designs from technical drawings, flow diagrams, and supplier information
- Develop piping and valve specifications and review design documents (GAs, isos, supports, BOMs)
- Carry out design calculations and select appropriate supports with load analysis
- Update and improve technical standards and specifications
- Use tools such as Aveva E3D and AutoCAD software to support your work
- Work cross-functionally within a multidisciplinary engineering team
Profile:
We’re after someone who brings both technical expertise and a collaborative spirit. Here’s what we’d love to see:

A degree (MSc, BEng, HND/HNC) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in a similar role
- Background working in nuclear, defence, O&G, or other high regulated industries
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you enjoy working with others and aren’t afraid to lead or mentor when needed
- Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive problem-solver who stays ahead of challenges
- Great time management – able to handle your workload efficiently while maintaining high standards
- A continuous improvement mindset – always looking for ways to enhance the quality of engineering outputs and documentation
